Best Teamgee electric skateboard
Alex Powell Mar 29, 2023 12:31 AM
Teamgee's decision to depart from its original design concept of basic, lightweight electric skateboards piqued my curiosity. However, I am pleased to report that I am not dissatisfied with the decision. The best Teamgee electric longboards are all substantially larger than their previous models, owing to the battery and ESC being housed beneath the deck. However, its performance and rideability more than make up for it.

The Deck
The deck is by far my favorite of all the Teamgee components. That isn't to argue that the rest of the eboard isn't nice; it simply means that I enjoy this deck.
Quite a bit!
It's a drop-down deck, for starters. That does mean that I had to stand a little narrower than usual, but it didn't take long for me to adjust.
Finally, the deck has a little W-shape concave across it. The W's main section is really relatively flat, almost invisible, but the lips on the deck's edges are just elevated enough to secure your feet without being too high to be unpleasant. The combination of the drop-down and the concave of the eboard creates these wonderful small nooks where you can put your feet. You'll never lose track of where your feet are on the deck again, and you won't slide
The Wheels & Trucks
These are among of the most comfortable 90mm 83A wheels I've rode in a long time.
They absorb a lot of shocks when riding on badly maintained roads, which is common these days in larger cities, because to their enormous size and soft durometer.
When you get the chance to ride the Teamgee on a wide, smooth trail, you'll be able to let free and carve with confidence, knowing that these wheels will grip the ground and keep you stable.
You may even upgrade to Cloudwheel donuts, which would make your ride even more pleasant and possibly boost your peak speed.
The vehicles are standard trucks that everyone has seen before. They aren't really noteworthy.
However, I'll point out that the turning circle on this eboard is incredible.
The setup created by Teamgee between the deck, trucks, and bushings makes turning on the a breeze.
I hadn't even loosened the trucks at all, yet I was able to execute a complete 180 in approximately 8 meters.
The Battery
This is the primary cause for Teamgee's departure from their minimalist eboards.
They sought to create an electric skateboard that could compete with some of the industry's biggest names, such as Meepo and Lycaon.
And I believe they've done a fantastic job of fighting back.
The Teamgee 's battery is a 10S3P array of 18650 cells rated at 7.5Ah, or 270Wh.
That's a decent-sized battery, according to Teamgee, with a range of up to 25 kilometers (40km).
Continue reading to see how I put that to the test.
I was curious how easy it would be to replace out the battery because having an additional battery in your bag may possibly give you a lot more range.
But, much to my disappointment, getting to the battery is quite tough. In reality, the only way to accomplish it is to pull up the griptape or, if you're clever, cut out little holes where the screws would be.
The enclosures are equipped with a locking mechanism that prevents entry without the use of tools. The screws are only accessible from the top, and the grip tape covers them completely!
The ESC & Remote
Teamgee chose the LingYi ESC, which has shown to be fairly powerful in the past
It has some decent, steady acceleration with a little force, but it's not going to blow your socks off.
The remote is slim and lightweight, with a matte surface and finger grooves on the side for added comfort.
The distance between neutral and maximum on the thumbwheel is quite short, and I was concerned that this might create jolting during acceleration and braking.
The ESC, on the other hand, proved to be up to the task, resulting in a very smooth and pleasant controller.
The board and remote battery, odometer, journey length, current speed, riding mode, speed mode, reverse, and cruise control are all displayed on the remote's display.
Although the remote is very intuitive, if you want to learn more about how to use it, go here
Overall, the Teamgee electric Longboard is a fantastic electric skateboard in my opinion.
Aside from the difficulty to reach the battery, this eboard's performance is excellent for the price.
The deck is the star of the show, providing a smooth and sturdy ride.
The ESC is smooth and progressive, so you can always feel and, more importantly, be in charge of the eboard.
This is one you should certainly check out!
