Best wheels for powersliding ( buying guide )

Consider the following three key factors when selecting skateboard wheels for street skating. Size, durometer, and form are all factors to consider.

Besides, you may choose to consider brand and pricing. Now, let's dive in and examine how these four variables may affect your skateboard wheel choosing procedure.

1. Size
For street skating, smaller skateboard wheels are preferable to bigger wheels but In fact, I'm referring to about 50 mm to 53 or 54 mm wheels. These wheels provide you with the leverage necessary to do the most difficult feats in street skating. They're also quick, owing to their difficulty. They're just what you need for blasting the area's enormous slopes.

With bigger boards, larger wheels (56+ mm) work best. Besides, wider boards are not the best option for doing street skating stunts. Therefore, pick tiny wheels for a regular skateboard.

2. Durometer
Smaller wheels are often more difficult to work with than bigger ones. Indeed, the tiniest wheels are sometimes the most difficult.

For street skating, you nearly always want to use wheels with a durometer of 99A or above. Durometer 103A wheels were some of the nicest street skating wheels I've ever used.

Certain skaters may argue that hard wheels are not the optimal choice for street skating. And, certainly, soft wheels let you to land tricks and do practically every other task more effectively. They are, however, sluggish and inept at powersliding. Now, powersliding is an integral part of all street skating. However, in the end, everything comes down to personal choice.

3. Contact Patch and Shape
The contact patch of a wheel refers to the region of the wheel that makes touch with the ground/surface. Wider wheels provide more stability, balance, and traction. However, they are not particularly well-suited for tricks, particularly technical ones. Choose narrower wheels for such maneuvers. While broader wheels are preferable for beginners, experts often choose narrow wheels.

Shape is another critical consideration. There are several wheel shapes available, including classics, radials, conicals, and conical full. The majority of professional street skaters like classics because they are tiny and glide unbelievably well.a

However, some skaters prefer wider wheels than traditional. That is why they could choose conicals. Conicals are broader and provide a little more grip and stability than conicals. However, although conical fulls are still street skateable, they may be too broad for certain skaters.

I've discovered that conicals perform better on ledges and rails. Again, each individual must continue trying until they discover their ideal form. If you're a newbie, I'd recommend starting with conicals.
4. Price and Brand
In the skating world, Bones and Spitfire are the most well-known brands. However, I am not suggesting that you should always select them. Having said that, skaters have been testing these manufactures' wheels for years and have unanimously determined that they are the finest.

You, too, are almost certain to fall into one of these two factions. However, there is no reason why you cannot explore with lesser-known products. Who knows, your finest wheel may come from an unknown manufacturer.

In terms of pricing, stick to the lowest wheels available. Mini-Logo wheels are my recommendation. Then, when you improve as a skateboarder, transition to Spitfires or Bones wheels. Spending $20-$25 on wheels is a reasonable investment for a novice. In most situations, experienced skaters have no problem splashing out for more expensive wheels. You, too, will arrive...hopefully soon.
